Jake's on the 6th

Shop front

Mini Ladies night out at Jake's on the 6th in Hillcrest! It was perfect for a relaxing break from work.

Parking was easy. The store front looked welcoming with an open patio facing the street and warm hues from the setting sun. With plenty of open space inside, it was very comfortable especially with the plush yet simple lounge chairs.

Specials!

The special was $2 off selected wine and for appertizers like cheese sticks (full on panini cheese bread!) etc. Our waiter/bartender was funny and friendly. There was a good crowd having dinner with an elegant long table at the back where what looks like a business meeting was going on and a long bar along the side. Even though they had a decent selection of wines from Spain, Chile, Australia, France, and local Californians etc, there was not many that I know.

Carmenére

Las Mercedes J.Bouchon Carmenére 2006

My first Camenére to add to the Quest list! Smells of leather, smoke, not much fruit and earthy. It tasted of chocolate with smokiness, plum, berry, spicy. There was not a lot of fruit. It was dry, well balanced acid with a little tannins. OOO

Overall, great experience!
